How would you describe yourself in a few words?
Actually ARDEINAE is the name of a taxonomic subfamily of birds which represents the egrets and herons. so i´d say in a few words i am an inquisitive bird lady, visual and an artist.
How long have you been a model?
For almost 1,5years now.
How did you get into modelling?
Through capturing myself as an artist while painting more in front of the camera. So i got to express myself more and more in front of my own lens.
How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
A good and skilled friend saw these self-portraits at my IG and kept on asking me, if i want to try do a shooting. After several attempts i said yes since i am curious by nature. And i really didn’t felt uncomfortable at all in front of another person’s lens as i thought. All was very natural. and the results really amazed me. Also i like the whole process of a shooting such as scouting the locations, sort everything out and work as a team. whereas while i am painting, i am more of a loner at home. but with modeling/photographing there is this whole creative environment you are surrounded with, which i really like.
What does modelling mean to you?
Self-expression (even though you might play a role, i think you always give parts of your experiences and feelings to the photographer during the shooting and that makes a portrait/photo in general stand out so much more. I want to tell stories with my eyes.)
A model you particularly admire?
I actually don’t have these kinds of role-models or anything; cause i always make my own conclusions in life. But if i had to name one, Charmaine Olivia. She is mainly a painter but also in front of the camera lots of times. And her talent, beauty and sparkling soul makes her inspire me much.
If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
Anywhere where it’s over 25 degrees atm i would say. (freezing my ass off here in switzerland!) I love being surrounded by raw nature such as forests, volcanos, lonesome beaches, mountains, hot deserts.. my favorite shooting i had so far was at 5:30 in the morning at a foggy lake here in switzerland surrounded by the forest.
What is your dressing style in everyday life?
Chameleon - I change my style with every weather and mood change. but i am definitely a sneaker addict, that never really changes.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Well that’s an easy one atm - South Africa. Since my fiancé lives there and it’s really hard to not be with the person that inspires you so much and gives so much meaning to your life.
What is happiness?
Just loving what you do and do what you love. E V E R Y D A Y. It’s the small things that make life big i learned.
Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Usually having Skype-dinner with my fiancé. Otherwise i listen to vinyls, play some ukulele or/and paint.
What’s your next goal?
Well my next big goal is definitely make a living with my love and create awesome stuff and travel the world together.
