How would you describe yourself in a few words?
In a few words I would describe myself as a open-minded, very kind and curious person. I’m also very thoughtful and I wish I could care less sometimes.

How long have you been a model?
I started modelling some years ago. I can’t really remember when it all started. I guess I had my first small shootings when I was around 18 years old.

How did you get into modelling?
A lot of Model Scouts asked me to come to their agencies, but I didn’t want to work as a full time model. So I signed by a casting agency and now I do some shootings and commercials every now and then.

How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
My very first big shooting was for a Abercrombie and Fitch campaign with the phenomenal Bruce Weber. It was an amazing experience, I was overwhelmed and so thankful for this chance. Also it was my first time in the US and my first time working  with such a big team. I’ve met so many wonderful people from all around the world.

What does modelling mean to you?
Modelling is a type of  freedom. You can be who you want to be, you can express any kind of emotion  and you can leave reality behind.

A model you particularly admire?
I’m obsessed with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. To me she is absolutely flawless. She is a perfect mixture of elegant, sexy and self-confident.

If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
Anywhere at the beach with a horse… That’s my dream!

What is your dressing style in everyday life?
A basic comfy shirt, a leather jacket, a high waist jeans and sneakers – that’s it!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I guess I would live in California or in Australia. As I mentioned, I prefer the beach and the ocean and the easygoing lifestyle.

What is happiness?
Happiness to me is to see the ones I love are healthy and happy. Aside from that, doing what I love makes me the happiest.

Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Probably hanging out with my friends or having a nice dinner with my boyfriend.

What’s your next goal?
My next goal is to start my career now that I finished my studies and I would love to travel more often.

In a few words, tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a 24 year old photographer and filmmaker living in Sydney. Originally from Perth in Western Australia I moved over 2 years ago for film school.

How long have you been a photographer?
I’ve been taking photos for a few years but more as a hobby. Only in the last 2 years or so I have been taking photos professionally.

How did you discover photography?
On family holidays growing up I always grabbed Dad’s cameras and took photos of the landscapes we travelled to.

How was your first shooting? What did you shoot?
I was filming a music video and did a bunch of photos along side of it with an actress named Savannah.

How would you describe your style?
I enjoy the aesthetic of film and the developing process. I like to do little planning and be spontaneous keeping it natural.

What does photography mean to you?
It’s a way to tell a story without words.

What inspires you?
Magic hour.

What would you like to photograph?
I would like to do major commercial campaigns adding my own creative flare.

A photographer you particularly admire?
Dane Singleton

What is happiness?
Having a Sunday arvo BBQ with friends and a few cold beers!

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Probably on a farm in New Zealand next to a few mountains with a couple of dogs.

What’s your next goal?
I haven’t really thought too much into the future but I would love to travel to interesting locations to shoot more concepts and ideas that appeal to my style.

In a few words, tell us a little bit about yourself?
I enjoy women, whiskey, & menswear. I love coffee and good conversation. I’ve finally found a good balance between staying in & binge-watching Netflix, and going out to the bars and events. I love a good burger and am constantly on a mission to find the best country-fried steak in the world. I love my friends & my family.

How long have you been a photographer?
That’s a hard question to answer. If I could rephrase it to ‘how long have I really liked my own work for?’ I’d say about the last 3-4 years. If I’ve shot with you before 2012, sorry.

How did you discover photography?
To be funny, I’d say 'it discovered me.’ But really, my dad was a photographer as I grew up, so I was always surrounded by it. I took it seriously when I enrolled in a black and white photography course in college and I was instantly in love with the dark room. (Note the juxtaposition of my 'instant love’ and the not-so-instant photos because of the dark room)

How was your first shoot? What did you shoot?
It was my best friend’s band. I shot on ISO800 film underneath streetlights at night… I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I got the prints back from the shop and the grain was ridiculous, hahaha. But that’s really trendy now, so you’re welcome?

How would you describe your style?
I can’t, really. I very rarely use Photoshop for touch-ups, mostly color editing and I shy away from using makeup artists, unless the client/model requests one. That said, maybe my style is raw?

What does photography mean to you?
A lot. But to sum it up, I’d say it’s an outlet; a means to reveal what I only see in my head. My work may reflect what you’ve seen before, probably because you have… I strive to be me and 'unique’ and 'different’ - but I also make an effort to be attainable and relevant, and aware of what that means to whomever sees my images.

What inspires you?
Everything.

What would you like to photograph?
Currently, I’ve really been into product work. Not necessarily e-comm, but strong, well thought-out studio work. It’s therapeutic when I’m alone in the studio, shooting; no assistant, no model, no hair & makeup artist, no stylist (sometimes).

A photographer you particularly admire?
Juergen Teller.

What is happiness?
There’s a whole documentary on this called Happy, it’s great, watch it! Though this question is completely vague and relative; happiness to me is being able to take care of myself, my parents, my siblings, and my friends. Whether it be financially, physically, or emotionally… if they’re not happy, then I’m not happy.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I really love Seattle, so I’d stay here and travel a lot. If I could change my living situation though, then I’d want to own a huge 2,500+ square loft to live & create in. I’d have my studio and home in one place finally, I’d start a little creative firm with artists & designers alike, and frequently host dinners, art shows & events.

What’s your next goal?
(refer to above answer)

How would you describe yourself in a few words?
I would describe myself as a very easy going, happy person. At least, I try to be haha!

How long have you been a model?
I became interested in modeling as a young girl thanks to my mother, she did modeling as well and I have always looked up to her. However, my modeling career really took off after high school.

How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
My very first shoot was as a little girl and I can remember I loved it! My first “big” payed shoot was when I turned 16.

What does modelling mean to you?
Modeling means freedom to work anywhere in the world. I’m very lucky and I have much to thank modeling for. If I  wouldn’t have traveled to South Africa for a job 1,5 year ago, I would never have met my boyfriend for example.

A model you particularly admire?
I don’t really follow models or read beauty/fashion magazines but, I do love Adriana Lima.

If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
A dream destination to shoot at would be somewhere in the Gobi desert.

What is your dressing style in everyday life?
My fashion sense was on point a few years ago… Now, I just take whatever I can find in the morning. Usually, I’m in gym clothes because that’s where you find me every day.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I think South Africa (where I live now) is an amazing place.

What is happiness?
Happiness for me is family. It’s not the most original answer but, I really cherish my family and my boyfriend. I try to surround me with people that give me energy.
Also, golden retriever puppies are happiness.

Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Friday night… At home, cooking dinner and drinking beer. I’ve had my fair share of party nights and it’s just not that fun anymore. I like to wake up the next day feeling good, not hungover.

What’s your next goal?
Next goal is moving to a different country. More of a “next step” then “next goal” I guess. I’m very excited to see what the future brings!

Mia Sol by Gabriele Rescaldani

An short interview with the brilliant Italy based photographer, Gabriele Rescaldani and the Chapter 1 of this sensual and stylish editorial starred by stunning Mia Sol. Enjoy it and stay tuned for the next chapter.
Know more about Gabriele at www.geba.it/phfacebook.com/gebazzz

In a few words, tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Gabriele, I’m 35 and I live in Italy, Milan area. I work in computer graphics (3d, special fx, that sort of things…), that was my main interest in spare time before photography. I am amazed by beauty, I love nature, volleyball, food and wine.

How long have you been a photographer?
I still don’t consider myself a real photographer… :-) …but if I need to pick a date, I was gifted the first reflex in 2008, so they are 8 years that I’m “playing” with photography.

How did you discover photography?
It was the hobby of some of my friends: listening to their conversations and looking at their photos, I was attracted and curious about that world. I soon started to join their talk, asking questions, and later looking for a camera: my interest was clear, and in few months it became reality in the form of a reflex, as a gift for my graduation.

How was your first shooting? What did you shoot?
I was interested in shooting people. So, I soon decided to participate in a workshop (portraits and glamour) organized near my hometown. At the first practical lesson, there was an amazing model named Lisa: on one side, there was her, beautiful and great and professional; on the other side, there was me, lost, embarrassed, in the desperate need of overcome my fears and understand what to do. It was quite terrible, especially because it was clear how much I was unprepared; but that pushed me to accept the challenge, and now I’m so glad I did it.

How would you describe your style?
Dirty. I don’t like the perfectly sharp and correct images that modern cameras can produce: that’s why I like luminous lenses with short depth of field and a lot of blur, while in post-production I love to add the right amount of noise and grade colors to my needs. I am more interested in the artistic side of photography, instead of technical correctness.

What does photography mean to you?
It’s an artistic tool that allows me to freely express myself. That’s the main reason I’m keeping photography as an hobby: in such a way, I can plan my own projects, develop them with my style, and dedicate to each photo the time needed for reaching the result I’m looking for.

What inspires you?
Beauty. I am a slave of Beauty.

What would you like to photograph?
Beauty… have I already mentioned it? :-) Lately, I like to tell stories: I often look for a story-line that inspires all the sets of my shooting. It doesn’t need to be evident… just a guide in background. I already have several ideas that just need the right time, model and location (…details…) to be done, and I’m sure others will come in the future.

A photographer you particularly admire?
There are many photographers that inspire me, such as David Bellemere, Jan Scholz and Luca De Nardo. But the one who deserves the special mention is Marc Lagrange, a Belgian photographer that I’ve always admired for the style and the strength of his photography: the book “Diamonds & Pearls” is to me an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Sadly, he early passed away few months ago, but his heritage is already huge.

What is happiness?
The freedom to express what we really are: if it isn’t happiness, it certainly is its starting point.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
In a warm place (I don’t like cold weather), where I can develop my beauty projects with all I need: does that place exist? ^_^

What’s your next goal?
Doing better.
In a shorter time (the list of shootings waiting for publications is… scary…).
