How would you describe yourself in a few words?
Loving, dedicated, independent and passionate.
How long have you been a model?
I have only been a “model” for about 2 or 3 years, but I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember. I have a portfolio I made before I even entered elementary school.
How did you get into modeling?
My sister is seven years older than me and is a photographer. She always dolled me up and took photos of me. My mom has a bunch of prints of me wearing makeup and croptops as a 5 year old. As she grew as a photographer I was always her Guiney pig.
How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
I’ve always loved being infront of the camera. Most of the time when I was younger I was excited to see the photos of me. I mainly shot with my sister and then started shooting with one of my good friends. Only 3 years ago I started to reach out to photographers on social media and plan shoots with strangers. I really get excited to do shoots because they are usually with photographers that I’ve been admiring on instagram.
What does modeling mean to you?
Model is a form of self-expression. It’s about putting all your insecurities aside and just being yourself in front of a camera. It’s something that comes natural to me and makes me feel good about myself. I just want to inspire other girls to do the same, be themselves and be vulnerable for a little while.
A model you particularly admire?
I really love Ashley Skye for how real she is. She will always be my favorite model and style icon. Also, Emily Ratajkowski, because she has the mentality that women should feel comfortable in showing off their bodies and shouldn’t be seen as less for showing off their bare skin. I really admire how she uses her voice rather than sitting back and letting people walk all over her. She has my dream wardrobe as well.
If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
A tropical beach in Bali would be a dream. But, nothing beats shoots in a bright naturally lit room that has cozy vibes. I love up close and intimate shoots the best. They are always my favorite images.
What is your dressing style in everyday life?
I wear jeans and a t-shirt with sneakers more often that not. In the fall I wear more sweaters and jackets, but nothing to crazy. I usually keep the colors pretty simple too, no bright colors, just simple neutrals.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I’d like to move to the UK or anywhere in Western Europe really.
What is happiness?
Happiness is spending the day with people you love laughing and seeing the world.
Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Honestly, probably in my bed watching Netflix, or hanging out with my roommates.
What’s your next goal?
I always set new goals for myself, in baby steps. I would really like to work with some of my favorite photographers and just create inspiring work.
