How would you describe yourself in a few words?
I am a Virgo but secretly think I’m a Leo - I’m headstrong, can be stubborn and definitely bossy, but I’d like to think that I am a loyal friend and am adventurous and always up to try something new!
How long have you been a model?
I’ve been modeling for just about a year now in April. Not long!
How did you get into modelling?
I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the 35 finalists for the Sports Illustrated Swim Model Search out of thousands of submissions. It really gave me the boost of confidence I needed to take modeling more seriously.
How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
My very first shoot was with Sports Illustrated during their casting call in Brooklyn, NY. It was pretty surreal that I got to work with so many talented models and photographers for my very first professional shoot.
What does modelling mean to you?
Modeling is something that has changed to me in many ways over the course of a year. When I was younger it was something I thought was unattainable, and something that people could only dream of. I wasn’t born the stature of a runway model and that was all my generation grew up seeing. Today, being a model and modeling means being strong and confident and comfortable in your own skin and embracing that. Being different is sexy and that’s what I want others to realize too.
A model you particularly admire?
I love Kate Upton. She was one of the first models who really broke down those walls of the “standard model.” She had curves! And it was so refreshing to see someone who worked that!
If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
Anywhere tropical. But my mom is from Puerto Rico and lived there much of her life so it would be fun to visit family and friends there and also be able to shoot on the beautiful beaches!
What is your dressing style in everyday life?
I like to call my style “very Jennifer Anniston.” So in other words, very laid back and relaxed but put together. Boyfriend jeans are my favorite, with a worn-in tee.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I’ve always said that I’d be happy in a shack on a beach in Hawaii or Australia.
What is happiness?
To me, happiness is being at peace with yourself. Whether that means quitting a job that isn’t right for you and starting fresh or taking time to work on parts of yourself that need self-love. It’s being able to wake up in the morning and feel like you’re doing what you love but always chasing new goals and adventures.
Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Friday is date night! I love going to a good restaurant with my boyfriend and having a few drinks while catching up on the week and unwinding for the weekend.
What’s your next goal?
To shoot more big jobs in other major cities! I love to travel!
