How would you describe yourself in a few words?
My pals have pegged me as Monica from Friends, perfectionist and a little neurotic with a very loud voice in a disproportionally small body.
How long have you been a model?
It’s just about to hit the year mark.
How did you get into modelling?
…I lost a bet. Thing is I was so drunk I couldn’t even tell you what the bet was about, but I went through with it and everything just spiralled from there.
How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
It was with an amateur photographer that I wasn’t extremely comfortable around, neither of us knew what we were doing and he spent half the time fiddling with the camera. We were just using natural light, my hair was a frizzy mess but somehow we still ended up with a few killer shots. It made me realise that even if the shoot doesn’t go perfectly, you only need a few photos where then angles and lighting are “just right” to make it worth your time.
What does modelling mean to you?
It’s not that deep to me, I have no attachment to my appearance and no interest in vanity or ego, but I love being able to have a link to the fashion and entertainment industry. Also, photoshoots are just a fun environment to be in, if there’s a makeup artist on board you can bet I’ll spend every spare second talking about lipstick.
A model you particularly admire?
Always Cara Delevingne. She’s so cool.
If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
Oh man, it’d have to be somewhere iconic that you’d recognise immediately. Like a rooftop in New York at sunset with the entire skyline in the background.
What is your dressing style in everyday life?
Anything that is as comfortable as pyjamas without looking like pyjamas. Sometimes my actual pyjamas.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I belong in cities, Glasgow is close to my heart and so is London. Last summer I lived in Paris which was wonderful, but don’t think I’m fluent enough in the language to set up house there!
What is happiness?
I have no idea how to answer that! Kittens make me happy, nice cups of tea, plants, coming home to bed, festivals, wine, getting woken up by sunlight, travelling… anything more meaningful than that I’m still figuring out.
Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Having a pre-bedtime nap or online shopping. It’s not thrilling but I like to spend every spare moment destressing and getting my alone time in.
What’s your next goal?
I’ll be going to LFW in for the first time soon, my goal is to not fall over on the catwalk. I’m terrified.
