How would you describe yourself in a few words?
Quirky, quick, quizzical
How long have you been a model?
I’ve probably been modeling for a little over a year now.
How did you get into modelling?
I was actually trying to get into voice overs and fell into modeling….doesn’t make so much sense. Ha!
How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
Well, my first shoot ever was way back when I was 15. I was studying abroad in Beijing over the summer and this photographer (now friend) had a studio in the same apartment complex my host family lived in. He had his girlfriend ask to shoot with me. I had no idea what was going on haha!! I was so awkward and uncomfortable. Also, my entire host family, some extended family included, came and watched. It was a very funny and weird experience.
What does modelling mean to you?
Well, modeling is a job, but it can also be a form of expression and art. When I shoot with my boyfriend for example, we’re creating together and that never gets old. I’m always excited to see how our photos come out.
A model you particularly admire?
I’ve always had a crush on Natalia Vodianova, since I was a teenager.
If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
Anywhere I need a plane to get to! I love, love, loooooove traveling. (Istanbul, Iceland and Japan are top of my list right now.)
What is your dressing style in everyday life?
I wear a very strange mixture of styles, from angelic to dark leather obsessed chick. Most of the time I’m boring and just throw on some black skinnies one of my boyfriend’s vintage sweaters and a cool jacket. It’s all mood dependent.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I love Manhattan. No matter where I am, I always want to return here. I would love to live in Paris again though, this time with my boyfriend. We were visiting recently and didn’t want to leave.
What is happiness?
I suppose happiness is what you make of it. To me, it’s finding passion and satisfaction in life and love. Also, chocolate.
Where can we find you on a Friday night?
On a Friday? I could be relaxing in a hot bath, watching tv or meeting up with a friend. I work weekends sometimes so Friday isn’t always “Friday”!
What’s your next goal?
My next goal is to buckle down and actually sign up for some interesting holistic classes. I’ve been wanting to do that for a while.
