In a few words, tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Antony Bou, small guy, long hair. I’m 22. I’m based in Amiens and I study in that city webdesign.
How long have you been a photographer?
For just 2 years I think because at first it was a training for me. I was learning technics and it took me time to really know what I wanted to do in photography.
How did you discover photography?
Some friends taught me this art and the basics of photography like Théo Gosselin or Emmanuel Rosario. They showed me how an image could be powerful and beautiful. After that, I wanted to build my own story and I’ve started to work on that.
How was your first shooting? What did you shoot?
I don’t really remember. (ahah). At the beginning I photographed everything, mostly my friends like nowadays. Like I said, it was a training. I don’t really like the « shooting concept ». I take pictures to keep memories alive. It’s always very natural. Nothing or almost is staged.
How would you describe your style?
I capture moments of life to show how life is beautiful sometimes. I prefer picturing humans and landscapes. I am a small town guy, that’s why I prefer nature-adventures than city and street life.
What does photography mean to you?
I only shoot film nowadays. Photography is like a time in space. You have the power to capture your age, time, youth, history. It is a reflection of your soul too. It can be everything that you see and you feel. Photography is like a painting for me.
What inspires you?
Lots of things ! It can be music, relationships, friends, nature etc. I watch movies a lot, getting new ideas and original shots is very important for me. I love the work of David Lynch or Terrence Malick, they are genius.
What would you like to photograph?
I would love to photograph famous pop stars or actors in their own life, in there everyday life, to show what the audience can’t see : they are like us. It could be funny.
A photographer you particularly admire?
I really love the work of Garry Winogrand, an american photographer in the 60’s. He always photographed a real action. This is what I prefer in photography, a one second action can last forever.
What is happiness?
“ Happiness is maybe just a piece of misfortune.” - Gustave Flaubert
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I don’t know yet, there are no perfect places to live. I mean, the country where I will be happy, with friends, love and self accomplishment will be perfect.
What’s your next goal?
I would love to make movies or music videos, but it’s a huge work ! I have no time now to do it, but soon I swear!
