How would you describe yourself in a few words?
I would describe myself as a very open-minded person and I love to get to know people from other countries and cultures, that’s, in fact, the reason why I started to study translation and interpreting. It’s very important for me to learn new things, like for example - a new language or any kind of sports - and to stay informed about politics. As already Karen Salmansohn said it: “Beauty is nothing without brains and heart””
How long have you been a model?
I’ve been modelling again regularly for about 3 years now. But I started in 2010 and took a break to concentrate on my studies.
How did you get into modelling?
That was actually a coincidence! A friend of mine wanted to surprise her boyfriend with a few nice pics on his birthday. So we contacted a photo-studio, set up a date and I accompanied her. On set, the photographer told me that I should try it as well, just for fun, but in the end, he told me that I was talented and that I should try to get a contract with an agency and start modelling. That’s how it all started.
How was your first shooting? Tell us a bit about that first experience.
My first shooting was the one I mentioned before, but the first important one to set up my sedcard was with a different photographer. I was so nervous, my hands were shaking and to be honest, I didn’t know what I was doing and I had no idea where to put my hands. It was difficult to show different facial expressions, so as you can imagine, the first shoot wasn’t the best one!
What does modelling mean to you?
The thing I like most about modelling is that you have to play different roles and try something new. For a few hours, you can transform into someone other than yourself. Besides that I love to work with other people on set, sometimes you are lucky and find some friends for a lifetime!
A model you particularly admire?
Candice Swanepoel.
If you could choose, where would you like to shoot?
I would like to shoot somewhere on a white sandy beach with palm trees all around me and the sun going down! Maybe in Cancun or the Maldives.
What is your dressing style in everyday life?
I have to study a lot, so I’m usually wearing a comfortable look. I love ripped jeans, T-shirts, comfortable jumpers and leather jackets. And I have to admit, that I’m addicted to Sneakers, I wear them as often as I can.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I guess I would like to live somewhere in Italy. I love the Italians, their food, their culture, their mentality and the Italian landscapes. I already lived there for half a year and I didn’t want to return home again.
What is happiness?
For me happiness is loving yourself, finding your purpose in this world, embracing the unknown and pushing yourself to get even better at whatever you’re doing. Having the support from people you love and doing some selfless things for strangers, for example smiling back at someone or helping a homeless. The material things don’t matter at the end of your life.
Where can we find you on a Friday night?
Usually, I’m going out with my friends and my sister. But sometimes I really appreciate lying on the couch and reading a book.
What’s your next goal?
My next goal is to graduate and to learn Arabic.
